privacy policy
last updated: 7 August 2026
This is the privacy policy for directexperience.co (the "site") and the Recharge iOS app (the "app"), both operated by Veritas Experience LLC, the maker of Direct Experience. It explains what personal data we collect, why, who else processes it, and how to have it removed. Plain language, no surprises.
what we collect
- Your email address, when you submit it to join the 7-day signal. That is the only personal detail we ask you for.
- Aggregate usage analytics (page views, referrers, and similar), via Vercel Analytics. This is privacy-friendly and is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
- First-touch attribution: the referrer and any campaign tags from the link you arrived on are stored in your browser's session storage so we can tell which content brought you here. It clears when you close the tab.
the app
Recharge does not ask you to create an account, and we never collect your name, email, or advertising identifier inside the app. What it does send is product analytics, tied only to a random ID generated on your device the first time you open it. That ID is not linked to your identity and we cannot use it to work out who you are.
Two things matter more than the list, so they are stated plainly.
- Your Screen Time data never leaves your device. Apple's Screen Time system gives the app the ability to block apps on your behalf, and that data stays on your phone. We cannot read it and we never transmit it.
- We never send which apps you choose to block. We record how many you picked, never their names or identities.
What the app does send:
- How you use the app: screens viewed during setup, practices started, completed, or left early, blocks started and ended, reminders set, and whether you granted notification and Screen Time permission.
- Your progress, in coarse ranges only. When you log a daily screen-time figure, we do not send the number. We send the range it falls into, such as "2-3h", and whether it went up or down against your starting point. This lets us tell whether the app actually helps people without holding anyone's actual usage.
- Whether a subscription is active, and when one starts or lapses.
why we collect it
Your email is used for one thing: to send you the 7-day signal and occasional related messages. Site analytics and attribution are used only to understand what is working so the writing gets better. App analytics are used to fix what is broken, work out which practices actually help, and report honestly on whether the app reduces screen time. We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it for anyone else's advertising, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.
who processes it
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) stores your email and sends the emails. See kit.com/privacy.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the aggregate analytics. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may be used to check that signups are from a human and not a bot. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- PostHog processes the app analytics described above, on their European servers. See posthog.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat and Apple handle subscriptions and payment. We never see your card details. See revenuecat.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.
where it lives
Data is held by the processors above on their infrastructure. Email data sits with Kit; the site and its analytics run on Vercel; app analytics are stored in the European Union with PostHog. Your Screen Time data and your logged daily figures stay on your own device.
your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, which removes you from the list. In the app, you can turn analytics off at any time under Settings; nothing further is sent once you do. To request access to, or deletion of, the data we hold about you, email support@rechargetime.app. For the app, deleting it removes the random ID stored on your device, and reinstalling generates a new one, so the old analytics can no longer be connected to you at all. If you want the earlier records removed as well, get in touch and we will delete them. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or CCPA, including access, correction, and deletion. We honour those requests.
changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
